Overview

Located along the bustling Jl. Raya Jakarta-Bogor corridor in Bogor, Rumah Makan Sukarasa offers an authentic slice of Indonesian culinary tradition with a particular focus on its signature Sop Iga Sapi. This humble eatery carves its niche by delivering hearty, soulful dishes rooted deeply in local flavors, making it a favored stop for both locals and travelers exploring West Java.

The main attraction, Sop Iga Sapi, is a carefully crafted beef rib soup where succulent chunks of tender meat meld effortlessly with a clear, fragrant broth. Each bowl promises a balance of rich aroma and clean, comforting taste that echoes the warmth of home-cooked meals. Complementing this flagship dish is the Iga Bakar, a grilled beef rib preparation that defies the conventional soy-sauce glazed style. Instead, it offers a juicy, subtly charred experience reminiscent of Indonesian street food, yet with a refined touch that invites repeated savoring.

Sukarasa’s menu stretches beyond the savory mains to include an appealing array of traditional snacks and desserts. Items like Donat Kentang, soft and dusted lightly with sugar, and various local kue basah such as Dadar Gulung and Kue Pisang, create a harmonious balance between sweet and savory. These accompaniments elevate the dining experience, allowing guests to indulge in a complete and genuine taste of Indonesian culinary heritage.

The space itself is modest yet welcoming, resonating with the casual charm typical of Indonesian eateries. It suits those seeking comfort food in a relaxed setting—families, groups of friends, or solo diners looking to connect with familiar regional flavors. The restaurant’s location in a semi-rural stretch also adds a refreshing break from urban fast-food stalls, making it a culinary haven for those journeying between Jakarta and Bogor.

Customer feedback underscores the restaurant’s value proposition. Patrons like Irawan Mustafa highlight the affordability and wide array of traditional offerings, recommending Sop Iga and gado-gado as must-try dishes. Meanwhile, Bella’s admiration of the portion sizes and the quality of the meat affirms the restaurant’s commitment to generous, satisfying meals without compromising taste.

In essence, Rumah Makan Sukarasa stands out as a culinary landmark for Indonesian food lovers, where time-honored recipes meet genuine hospitality. Its focus on robust, homely flavors and traditional sides crafts an experience that is both accessible and memorable, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Indonesia’s food landscape.

My verdict: 1. Sop iga - recommended from this resto. The meat chunk is big and soft but still flavorful. Price 50k. 2. Iga bakar - not like typical iga bakar which is usually have soysauce when grilled. This is more like iga goreng but still very juicy. But I like sop iga more than iga bakar. Price 55k. 3. Donat gula - you should take it home. The doughnut is very soft and taste good. Price 4k. Taste: 4.8/5 Portion: 5/5 Place: 4/5
